This is really strange. If I were trying to smuggle a wanted fugitive out of a country, I'd want as few people as possible to know about it. Why would I tell the pilots? How would the subject even come up? "Hey, uh, Captain, we got a VIP down in the cargo hold, in a box, so give us a smooth ride OK?" There must be something else to this story...

I do! I hate what he did to Nissan. They should have ended their partnership with Renault years ago after it was clear that he was doing everything he could to build a cheaper car resulting in loss of quality. We've had several Nissan's in our family and I was lucky enough to have a 2006 Sentra, the last year they had a 4-speed automatic transmission. Sure it was a JATCO, but back then they made a decent product, maybe not as solid as Aisin, but still pretty good. After they switched to using CVT's they were breaking on the test drives at the dealerships. The one thing they still have going for them is their engines, which Nissan has been able to do a good job with. As far as I know they haven't switched to graphite-coated head gaskets like Subaru and I hope they never do. This guy took a good company and ruined it.

That explains alot. I'm a mechanic (of everything pretty much), and I've seen my fair share of poor quality in Nissan products. They as a company are also difficult to extract service information from. On the module programming side of things, a few colleagues of mine refuse to do any programing on them (and BMW & Mercedes) for their propensity to create a $2,000 paperweight out of a new module, due to confusing, conflicting, and incorrect service information right from Nissan. Not worth the hassle to them.
