FAA Releases VOR Decommissioning Policy
The FAA formally published its policy including the criteria for selecting hundreds of VOR navigation aids that will be decommissioned over the next decade. The policy, released today, further outlines the process for decommissioning. The agency has selected 308 VORs to be decommissioned as the agency moves to a satellite-based navigational system (www.ainonline.com) Plus d'info...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]

Also, I have a question: you seem to have found a method to insert a date/time stamp to your posts. Is that a feature of the FA posting system? Thanx in advance.

Hi again Mr. Wiley:
RE: Your post of earlier today:
Not sure what you are trying to say or who you are trying to communicate with. May I suggest to make it easier to follow a conversation, you begin with to WHOM you are addressing your post, and about what time it was ?
You indicated you think someone is trying to impress someone. You are probably right. For example, we have a whole "flock" of "flyer-aviation enthusiasts" in here who like to impress each other with post that appear satisfying to their needs ( but unfortunately, are useless to us who thought this "site" had to do with aviation operations). For example, we have "Sparkie" who told us all about the "ADF Approach into SCE". Then we have those folks who tell us all about how "the entire VOR system is going to be turned off, leaving us without back up"...
No no no..I am not making fun of the "flyer-aviation enthusiasts" who come in here to socialize and sound important to each other. THis form of communicating serves an important function for those who feel their lives are of little value - in here, they can sound important ( so long as those of us who are involved in aviation operations keep still about it)
I did look you up - apparently you are so modest you did not list your connection to aviation. You did state that you have something called an ADS B "feeder". Help me out..am I supposed to be feeding my ADS B unit..if so..what do I feed it and how to I find the place where the food goes in ? I presume if you have an ADS B "feeder" (whatever that is) you must also have an ADS B that needs to be fed. May I inquire, what kind of airplane do you have your ADS B unit in ?
