Funny how it looks amazingly similar to the "Herc". I guess they are after Lockheed now as well as Boeing

Yep, their version of my beloved Herky, exc with 6 bladed props. Orders totalled 174 aircraft from eight nations as of July 2011. Airbus Military is expected to deliver the first aircraft in the second quarter of 2013

Are they 8? The newest Herc's are 6. That's what they are using at LIT for training and were in process of equipping all Hurricane Hunters with them. They say they give one hellacious power increase. I could only imagingine what 8 would do. All I ever flew on was 4.

Yep, had to go back and count them a second and third time - Hamilton Sundstrand 5.3m diam. The maiden flight was in 2009, so I don't know what the diff is now. They did all the high altitude flights in Bolivia two years ago.

Yeah, kind of looks like a C-141 mixed with a C-17 and a Herc.

I can't see the resemblance on the first 2, especially with the props.

I was wondering when a non-testing A400M would be produced and seen. Nice see Airbus making progress towards the A400M's military career.

I can't even see the blades in this pic, let alone count them.
