A Cessna P210 is a quite busy piston single that ,while not particularly unforgiving to fly, is quite unforgiving of those that don't do the systems homework and know the ramifications of flying routinely in the O2 levels. These folks walked away, best outcome under the circumstances I'd say.
The flight was made at 10K feet and they were at that altitude for well under 2 hours. I doubt that knowledge/operation of the pressurization system is going to be a contributing factor in the crash.
Look this aircraft up on Kathryn's Report. It's not its first time in the weeds, and my comment did not denigrate the pilot. It was aimed specifically at the P210 That has a fairly high accident rate for the 210 series. Next beef?
Yes, I’m aware of the previous history of the aircraft. I guess I’m still trying to figure out how cruise altitude is related to this mishap. As for the P210 accident history, it is one of the highest performance single piston GA plane produced. As such, it commands a relatively high price on the market. There is a certain segment of the pilot population that believes “if I can buy it, I can fly it”. History is littered with evidence that their wallet and ego often exceed their pilot capabilities.
non P- 210's do not routinely operate in the O2 levels. simple enough
