King Air Crashes on Departure from LGB - 5 Dead
LONG BEACH (KTLA) -- A twin engine plane crashed and exploded into a fireball at Long Beach Airport, killing up to five people, authorities said. The accident happened at 10:30 a.m. as the plane was taking off for Salt Lake City, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor. A witness reported seeing a large fireball after the impact, Gregor said. There are unconfirmed reports from the scene that as many as all five people on board may have died in the crash.
