If you look at the route, he turned over Idaho about 1.5 hours into the flight, I happened to be tracking it at the time.
It doesn't show me that "diverted" track, sorry, it defaults to the completed one.
Maybe management, or engineering, determined where they should go and land.
As you know engineering are monitoring (or capable of) the various parameters in-flight.

OK, I see now how it changed its normal routing, compared to a couple of others in the database.
