United Airlines to Install Slimmer Seats to Increase Capacity
United Airlines plans to install slimmer seats in all of it's Airbus planes allowing it to add another row of seating without sacrificing legroom. (www.latimes.com) Plus d'info...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Wish they'd install seats that don't recline.
I'm curious to see how these will feel. For some people I'm sure the most comfortable chair they sit in is their desk chair at work. Most of those are certainly of a slimmer design. Heck most old airline seats have padding that is so rutted anyway, why not go with a firmer thinner design.
Because the airline business is just booming! What a joke... That's like expanding a parking lot for a place that's going out of business.
Okay, if the airline business is a joke... what would the world look like without the airlines? Also, the airlines do charters for the military... FYI!
Blake1023 please re-read my post and retract your previous statement. I never said the airline business is a joke. The fact they feel the need to increase capacity in their airplanes is though.
I did read your post about comparing the airlines to a business going under. Airlines are here to stay. I work for an airline that is adding compacity to its A320s and we still have 90% load factors. The industry is trying to better utilize airplanes to save on fuel, aircraft lease payments, and other operating costs. Not to mention these seats offer a weight savings. You need to do your research before making statements.
