As someone who lives on the flight path of SYD, I am inclined to say this is a typical band-aid solution to the real problem of having an airport in the middle of a city, with nowhere to go when expanding the airport, which is currently necessary. However, as a plane nut I do like the proximity of all those lovely jets. I still think we need a 2nd airport in the next 20 - 30 years.
