Greetings to all....

This aircraft, owned and operated by the Draken Corporation, is a highly modified A-4N. Licensed in the "Experimental - Research and Development" class. Note the faring behind the cockpit along the spine of the fuselage and the chines below the cockpit running beneath the engine intake.

Great photo - what's the significance of the maple leaf ?
Eli DeSouza
I wondered about that too! Seeing the USA registration (November) with a "Canadian" paint begs the question
Joel Wade
Those "chines" are actually blast deflectors to prevent J52-P408 compressor stalls from the 20mm Mk12 guns that were originally installed in the wing roots. Of greater interest is the tailpipe extension, reminiscent of the extensions used by the Israelis to defeat SA-7 damage.
Joseph Chan
The reason for the Red Maple leaf on the tail is that CAE and Draken are teaming up to bid on a Canadian Forces requirement for aggressor aircraft training for its F-18s. The proposal is for 16 A4 spread over 2 airbases simulating SU-30s and other aircraft.
