Fokker 70 (VH-QQW)

Operating as Envoy70 departing off Rw 05 for Launceston, TAS.

With the then impending federal election, politicians and their entourages were criss-crossing the country at a furious rate trying to get all the publicity they could from personal appearances.
This aircraft was the support aircraft for the then opposition leader’s entourage. The RAAF doesn’t have enough personnel aircraft to support all the touring politicians’ needs, so aircraft were chartered from Alliance Airlines, Fokker 70s as far as I could ascertain, to provide additional airlift.
‘Envoy’ is the RAAF code for personnel transports.

Alliance still have 70s and 100s in their fleet. 70s aren't common here and so, so lucky to get this after all the time it's had this livery. We have two 100s based here for mining center services.
