but you got it!

I agree with ww. You got it. Despite the heat, the distance, AND the smoke, you got it. Plus, they rarely park it in a ramp location that makes it easy to photograph. It's our plane; WE pay for it (actually, WE pay for BOTH of them), but we aren't permitted to get close enough to snap pics. So Congrats to you for this fine capture AND for being out there in all the adverse conditions to get it. It's a focused capture. Coloring in all five stars for this click, Tia. Well done. And a quick PS. The reg is 828000, no "N" in US military reg numbers. (Wave)

Thanks! I dunno why, but the little box keeps auto "correcting" to N28000

Ah, yep, often it won't "accept" your entering the correct reg now. At the time you are initially entering a pic, the program WILL accept six-numeral reg number entries (such as 828000) but it "auto inserts" a hyphen (82-8000). However, after the initial opportunity, IF (when the photo was being uploaded) only five numerals were entered, the program auto-inserts the "N" and often times after that it will not permit corrections to be made. The guaranteed way of getting the program to accept the correct reg is to enter the entire reg at the same time the pic is being uploaded. Truth be told, it isn't all that important EXCEPT for two reasons. 1) If a future viewer wants to see pics of this one (for example) and enters the correct reg number - 828000 - to search for all pics of it, this pic will not come up. If you aren't concerned about whether people view your pics or not, then it's not a big deal if this pic of yours does not appear when people search for pics of the aircraft. And 2) inaccurate info entered with a photo tends to reflect somewhat negatively upon the person who posted the pic. For several reasons that I won't delve into here, that negative impression may possibly have consequences. It all depends on how concerned the posting person is about how he/she is "perceived" and about what benefits he/she may be hoping to derive from posting her/his photos here. Generally speaking; however, if #1 and #2 are not big concerns, then having the reg number shown incorrectly is not that big a deal. Once again, Congrats on going out there and coping with all the adversities (smoke, heat, distance) to get this shot. I admire your determination. (Thumbs Up)
