I wonder how many seats in the rear cabin???
nice shot
Non, mon ami, this is an A-1D Skyraider. The A-4D was a small jet attack plane.
It is correct … it is an AD-4N Skyraider. The A-4 Skyhawk was an entirely different (jet) aircraft, but the AD-4 was one of seven versions of the AD-1 Skyraider. Wiki says: "The Skyraider went through seven versions, starting with the AD-1, then AD-2 and AD-3 with various minor improvements, then the AD-4 with a more powerful R-3350-26WA engine." Enough said!
A Rose by any name...R3350/2800hp. In the Navy it was an A-1E.
Amazing, I did not know these were still in service with the French Air Force.
n9341c - The French Air Force (Armée de l'Air) no longer operates the Douglas Skyraider type. The aircraft in the photo has a French civil registration.
I think it was two crewmembers jammed close in operating the radar......
