Geesh! Man, I know that an airplane is, in the technical sense, just a piece of equipment ... but nevertheless, these series of pics makes me extremely sad. Just go down to the reg number (N665US) below these pictures and click on it. There are over 70 shots of this DAL ex-fleetbird. Then, when they pop up, scroll to NEWEST and click again. The pics will display again, but the newest posts will appear first. And prepare to be shocked! Scot W posted a gorgeous click of her just a few weeks ago. And only a couple months ago, John, you posted some superb snaps of her, too. John, the Queen looks fantastic in your pics, and truly regal in Scot's shot. And now .... look at her. Yeah, I know, it's just a piece of equipment that has outlived its usefulness. But I don't care. It makes me feel very, very sad to see her this way now. I appreciate your posts of her today, John, but I'll always love your posts of her from a few months ago.

You're right, it is sad. I wonder why she got chopped up so quickly. But thanks (I guess?) for the pic, John.

She looks as if vultures have had a virtual feast upon her body... :-(

Very sad! I recently visited KMZJ and saw several DL 744s being parted out! I am based at KDTW so I saw many NWA 747s then DL 744s post the merger in 2008! So sad I recently went around the FIRST EVER 747-400 at the Delta Flight Museum in ATL and made a video about it on my YouTube channel here’s the link:

Plz check it out!
