-- Minimum Visibility Landing --
We get almost no snow throughout the entire winter .... and now, in March, we get snow.
The pilots of AAY's N333NV, on approach from KLAS, were just about to abort their landing approach and go around when they finally saw the runway lights through a heavy snowfall and elected to continue their landing on runway 34L. This click caught the inbound Airbus as it emerged from the low clouds and snow and passed in front of me.

I had positioned as close as possible to the runway approach figuring that I'd see it when the pilots told the tower that they had the runway in sight. But it didn't happen that way. Even after they reported the runway lights in sight, all I could see was snow and gloomy gray nothingness. The first indication I had that it was about to appear was when I heard it. Then it suddenly came into view when it was almost at the position seen in this shot. I had expected to have a bit more time to focus thru the snow. I was able to focus and shoot, refocus and shoot, and etc for a total of just five photos before it disappeared back into the snow and out of my view. I was rather POed because even as I snapped the fifth shot I knew it was garbage and then I was pretty sure I had not been able to get even one clean click of it. Later I discovered that I had gotten two crisp and clean photos. This is one of the two.

You were lucky! Nice photo in those conditions.

Not luck, but rather the persistence of a pro! Great shot, Gary!

Well done, Gary!
Gavin Hughes
Persistence first, then luck and in those conditions - well and bravely done sir.

Flying through that is interesting. To hear people commenting that since they can't see the ground, how can the pilot land the plane. Yeah, magic... It's pretty silly to have people applauding the landing. What? It's a normal day!

Gary, your shots never disappoint!

Great shot as always! 5 stars +++++! Bravo!! Didn't know AAY had A319's, thought they were all A320 fleet! Cheers!
