NC485W — - NC485W (N485W), a Stearman Aircraft 4DM-1 Speedmail, owned and piloted by Addison Pemberton, taxies to the T-Hangar ramp at Carson City Airport. The American Airways paint on Pembertons Speedmail (his is one of only seven remaining Stearman Speedmails) shows the original scheme it had when it was delivered from Stearman Aircraft. This plane is one of the original 12 delivered to American Airways and was flown by the airline on its Dallas-Corpus Christi-Chicago route.br /The Stearman visible in the background on the right side, which has just landed on CXPs runway 27, is Jeff Hamiltons NC489W, a Model 4EM-1 Speedmail. Appreciate the comp, Greg. Must admit, it is literally impossible to take a bad shot of any of the five Stearman Speedmails that were together at CXP. They are all fantastically gorgeous! I hope you gave it a look at FULL size for best Q. The three that arrived here were only about 30-35 feet away from me as they taxied past to the parking ramp; so close, in fact, that for a brief time I actually had too much lens because they were right next to me. And I just saw that you are posting too, so I'll check them as soon as I get finished here.

Yeah, I believe you about not being able to take a bad shot. They look great! But you still had to be there in the right place to get the shot. ;-) Thanks, and I'll be looking forward to more shots.

TY very much, Jim. I was honored (and tremendously excited) when I was invited to attend the arrival of three of these to join two more that were already here. It was the first time they had all been together and there are only five still flying so it was a rather historical event. I'm going to add a few pics showing the others; I hope you like those too.
