Arriving and departing aircraft were using Runway 16R up until an hour before Air Force One was scheduled to arrive from Orange County (CA). When the runways were reversed and 34L became the runway Air Force One would land on, I decided to climb The Snake. I had to hustle a bit going up but I made it to the top with ten minutes to spare. There were other people up there, including an entire family. Later, as I was on the way down and getting close to the bottom, a City of Reno Fire Department pickup truck and a REMSA ambulance drove past me to the base of Rattlesnake and the emergency personnel then left their vehicles and started the exhausting climb up. I learned later that a woman at the top had become dizzy and collapsed moments after I had left.
