Boeing 737-800 (N917NN)
American's N917NN, the AirCal heritage livery schemed B738, is snapped as it makes a noon-hour approach to Reno Tahoe International's runway 16L. This particular special paintbird is an infrequent visitor to RNO; yesterday's visit was just the third time it has come to RNO since being dressed in AirCal "attire."

We almost missed getting captures of this one. We were positioned to get as close as possible to catch it in the air, but just as it was contacting the tower, the airport announced it was flipping runways to use the 34s because the winds were shifting direction and increasing in velocity. We could never have managed to reposition to the south end of the airport in time. But then we heard the tower clear this flight to "be the final inbound" to land on 16L before the runway change.
