Boeing 747-400 (N496MC)
GTI's N496MC, operating as Giant Flt. 8200, completes a flight from Amsterdam's Schiphol (EHAM) to Reno Tahoe International as it touches down on runway 34R yesterday afternoon. The Atlas Air bird was arriving with a tremendously expensive cargo: it delivered the Gumball 3000 race cars from Amsterdam so the United States "leg" of the Stockholm-to-Las Vegas race could be resumed in San Francisco this morning. As part of the photog group covering the arrival, my greatest thrill was this once-in-my-lifetime opportunity to be within 150 feet of a B747 that was landing literally a stone's toss away. This aircraft is truly The Queen Of The Skies; it was a gorgeous sight seeing it this closely.

Mark, Sunil, Dwight, and John ... my Thanks to each of you for your complimentary comments. :-) Mark, an Arke B767 touched down just in front of this one, and right after this GTI swept past me, the 767 came taxiing across both runways and came directly up to me. (Grin) I absolutely could not believe my fabulous good fortune in being where I was positioned. It was a definite double treat. :-)
