This C-47 was built as a Douglas C-47A-90-DL Skytrain, USAAF s/n 43-15935, msn 20401. It was declared surplus in 1946 according to Joe Baugher's information. The aircraft went thru a succession of registrations and owners until 1998 when sold to Vintage Wings and Things of Carencro, Louisiana and registered as N33VW. It was sold to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, Addison, Texas in 2009 and retains the FAA civil registration of N33VW. Photo was taken at KLFT, Lafayette Regional Airport, circa 2000. The aircraft has since been repainted in a "WWII D-Day" livery, with "invasion stripes".

Dang, you got a lot of pictures from the year 2000, it must have been a very good year for you in Planespotting! quick queston, how did you get those old pics onto a computer? it all confuses me...
Chris - Thanks for the kind words... and yes, that was a good time for myself in planespotting. Although most all of those photo captures were with 35mm film, including the above photo, I had these digitally scanned to a CD when the film was processed.
