Nice Shot. Taken at LUK?
The terminal in the background makes me think CMH.
I note this is a genuine early American Airlines DC-3 with Wright engines, a curved shape divider between the two pilot windscreens and the pax door and stairs are on the starboard side of the aircraft.
I flew as co-pilot on N400D back around 1970 with the owner K.C. Benbow out of Burlington, NC. He also had a Lockheed 10A Electra which I flew as PIC when we were barnstorming both aircraft to raise money for a day camp for kids.

Shot at KLOU, Bowman Field Louisville KY.
GREAT backdrop with the aircraft, both make it look like they leaped back in time
Very nostalgic, great photo!
Perfect pairing!
No information at all-- registration, aircraft type, location? Hint: NC17334, DC3, KLOU. When was it taken? What was the occasion? Basic information and context make it searchable and interesting!
This DC3 was in continuous service with AA from 1937 to 1947.

Great photo, get rid of distracting people and convert to monochrome, would look terrific
I saw that plane on that day. October 2016 for the Bowman Field airshow. I think that was only the second or third year they did it. I remember the Flagship Detroit pointing her tail at the spectators and blasting some very excited kids during engine runup.
