Funny thing, after Mayor Daley destroyed Meigs Field on Northerly Island, the whole Chicago Loop airspace reverted to VFR flight rules control. One of the reasons Daley cited for closing Meigs was security. He claimed someone might fly an aircraft from there into a Loop building. When it was open Meigs controlled the airspace over the Loop.
