PERFECT TIMING WITH STROBE LIGHT AND SMOKE FROM MAINS TOUCHING DOWN...

5 stars are a joke
The whole rating system is a joke...
I agree 100%
I agree 100%
Any "like" or "dislike" of a photo is purely subjective for the most part.
However, I would be remiss not to add that often times we as photographers are at the mercy of our photo equipment.
A night time photo of a close and rapidly moving object requires very fast glass.
Such glass is nearly always super expensive and beyond the prudent budget of most folks.
My hat is off to Sam for even trying this shot... and yes, I believe his "timing" on the shutter was perfect.

Sam, you are right... the rating system is very subjective.
Here's an example... the same photo uploaded by two different FA members... two years ago... and the ratings vary drastically -
The first has 4 Votes (3.25 Average) and 479 Views.
The second differs with 4 Votes (1.75 Average) and 1,025 Views.

Yes, the FA ratings game is 100% subjective... and as evidenced by the two above examples, any FA member can "borrow" photo images as taken by official DOD military photographers and upload those like you owned them... and no need to worry. FlightAware doesn't care and it's virtually guaranteed to boost your "ratings"!

I got new camera so I was testing out different settings...such as low light and different ISO settings...
It's a high quality camera but I'm still learning it. Sony HX-300...what makes it great is the processor And the Carl Zeiss lens

I'm happy with it despite some flaws which I'm learning to fix...I'll probably never get this shot again so for that reason I'm happy about it...
Sam, I hope you enjoy the new DSLR camera... and congrats on this one!
Thanks Cliff
I think its a cool shot but sadly the light wasn't enough for the camera that day if it had been this would be a great shot not just a cool one, either way thumbs up for effort. Also I notice that this is tagged as ExpressJet when it should be LOF.
