It’s a Boeing F-18E. M&A was completed in 1995. No need for a hyphen in the Bureau Number. It is contiguous - 166775. Nice photo!
Thanks Bob! And FA automatically puts a hyphen when I put the BuNo in unfortunately. Not sure what’s up with that.
Well Bob P, you can write it any way you want to. But in a Bureau Number, the first two digits are in fact, a coded field. In many contexts, the hyphen is customary. In some government uses, it is mandatory.
I believe the reason that FA puts the hyphen in the BuNo is because that's how the Air Force does it.
Looks like it needs to go to the boneyard...
