Nice pic - good timing. I'm also appreciating the background...would that be a standing lenticular cloud topping the mountain in the background? It doesn't quite have the exact lenticular shape but sure looks like it is behaving like a lenticular.
Joint Base Lewis-McChord. That was my view '81-'85 from Grey Army Airfiels while stationed at Ft. Lewis. Beautiful shot.

Mt Rainier with a cap cloud. Excellent
Yep…that’s the view when I started my Air Traffic Control career 50 years ago, this coming June 1. The 62nd MAW had C-141’s, the A models, back then. The 318th FIS had F106’s. Great way to learn the job. Very lucky to have been sent to McChord right out of tech school and fall in love with that view of Mt. Rainier. Thank you for posting this wonderful photo!!
