Boeing 747-200 (N905NA)
N905NA shuttle carrier on the streets of Houston en-route to her final destination at Space Center Houston.
Comments
Possibly the most sickening picture I have ever seen of an aircraft of note. The Shuttle carrier was unique and as such should have been preserved alongside one of the Shuttles that it carried. If it be the same B747 that landed at LAX with the last Shuttle on her back then the pair should rest together at the final destination.
That said, the lack of detail with this photo indicates that this is a shell for the breakers yard and not a fuselage disassembled for the purpose of rebuilding once at final resting place!
Would it be possible for someone to enlighten us as to the fate of this aircraft?
