N stands for a NO in this case, this is French Air Force helo therefore it CAN NOT CARRY AN AMERICAN CIVILIAN AIRCRAFT N REGISTRATON.
you're right. But it's Flightaware software that automatically adds "N" for registrations starting with a digit other than a registered U.S. ...
