June 12th, 2019 - FlightAware announced today that they will provide a premium version of their professional, private flight tracking service, called FlightAware Global, to owners and operators of new or pre-owned business jets manufactured by select partners. FlightAware Global offers worldwide flight tracking that fuses thousands of data sources and makes them available to unlimited users via web or mobile. To launch the program, FlightAware has reached an agreement with Textron Aviation Inc. to be the first participant.
“We’re excited to provide a complimentary, one-year subscription for FlightAware Global to purchasers of new or pre-owned Textron Aviation jet and turboprop aircraft,” said Daniel Baker, Chief Executive Officer at FlightAware. “This program makes it incredibly easy for new aircraft owners to enroll in our service for no charge. We will setup and configure their global coverage so that owners and operators can begin using it the moment they take delivery of their new Textron Aviation aircraft.”

Key features of FlightAware Global include:
- Datalink integration – In addition to FlightAware terrestrial ADS-B, Aireon space-based ADS-B and Air Traffic Control RADAR and flight plan information, FlightAware can also integrate VHF or satellite datalink for aircraft serviced by ARINC, ARINCDirect, Garmin Connext, Honeywell GoDirect, Satcom Direct, SITA, Spidertracks and others.
- Selective Unblocking – Aircraft owners and operators are able to maintain complete privacy while allowing friends, family, employees and business associates to track aircraft movements.
- Aircraft Activity Alerts – Notifications of flight plans, route changes, delays, departures and arrivals.
- FBO scheduling – Users can notify a destination FBO ahead of arrival, ensuring services like rental cars and fueling are ready the moment the aircraft lands. Currently, over one thousand FBOs are participating in this service, including all Signature Flight Support locations.
These premium features are also included through FlightAware’s entry into service program:
- Ready to Taxi™ – Live status updates for aircraft activity on the ground. Alerts when the pilot powers aircraft on at its origin, begins taxiing and parks at its destination FBO.
- Aireon space-based ADS-B – 100% global flight tracking coverage, including coverage over oceans, deserts and the poles.
- Aircraft Activity Alerts – Notifications of flight plans, route changes, delays, departures and arrivals.
- DTN weather maps – worldwide, 4D turbulence and icing forecasts, worldwide satellite IR, lightning and winds/temperature aloft. Includes high-resolution, current RADAR throughout Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States.
