FlightAware Global Suite for Business Aircraft Adds New Flight Leg Share Option

LAS VEGAS – October 11, 2021 – FlightAware, the largest provider of flight information and actionable aviation intelligence, announced a new secure flight leg share feature available with their popular flight tracking suite, FlightAware Global.

Flight leg sharing, exclusive to Global Gold and Platinum tier subscribers, allows the limited and secure unblocking of any single flight segment. Operators maintain overall privacy while leveraging greater flexibility. Users can privately share any specific flight leg of a blocked aircraft by offering temporary “view only” access to anyone, even non-account holders, via a simple email.

FlightAware Global Gold and Platinum tier subscribers already enjoy the option to selectively unblock any registered tail number, enabling aircraft operators to track their own aircraft while blocking it from public view to maintain privacy and security.

Now temporary stakeholders, with an interest or service associated with just one particular flight leg, are looped into the pertinent details of that segment without exposing protected flight history. Stakeholders such as local ground transportation, meeting attendees, a passenger on just one flight, or all the way to a busy charter broker.

Flight Leg Sharing grants limited “view only” access to anyone you select straight from your flight page, with the simple click of an email.

“FlightAware Global customers have requested a way to share just a single flight leg on a blocked flight. Now, it’s possible and easily accomplished with the click of an email link,” said Daniel Baker, FlightAware CEO. “For Global users concerned with privacy, our new flight leg share feature provides enhanced communications and a more coordinated service experience for business aircraft operators, pilots, passengers, and ground vendors.”
