I know of a company that is using non-calibrated avionic tools, when the FSDO comes around they hide the tools in the desk drawer claiming the FAA can't ask to open their toolboxes and or desk drawers. Another company paints AC and does not have them drug tested. One of their employees was fired by our company after he failed a urine test.

People are way too complacent in the Aviation Community as of late.

It is not easy to discover the political leanings of judges, however, a look at their political donations, and endorsements by party operative groups can be instructive. California has about 1600 Superior Court Judges, A little more than 1400 have made donations to Democratic causes or are endorsed in elections by Democratic non-profits.

Pretty much a worthless article without telling us exactly what parts they were selling? Was it rudder actuators or air vent distributors and seat back trays? It makes a huge difference. Also the term counterfeit needs to be replaced with the word "Untested" or "Non Certified" These guys were not manufacturing counterfeit parts as in Counterfeit money! Very misleading in an attempt to make the title far more serious sounding and get more hits.

I was also disappointed with the article. I was hoping that an actual counterfeit parts ring had been shut down. Counterfeit parts are putting lives in jeopardy.

...back when I was working on my A&P, we had a visit from a BELL rep where he presented us with 2 parts and asked which was real and counterfeit...after 2 days of analysis we admitted we couldn't determine the difference...that was when he said that it was our responsibility to know...needless to say, that was a reality check..I never forgot that...

Makes one wonder whether United hasn't been caught up in some mess like this, given their recent spate of maintenance issues. Let's hope it does not take a major air crash caused by counterfeit parts to get regulations tightened.

Once these 2 absolute sick morons are released from prison, no matter how long their sentences are, they should be on probation forever. They should be compelled to doing "community service", by cleaning every aircraft in the Canadian commercial fleets, with an old toothbrush. Hopefully that will take them to the end of their lives.
