Quebec government holds out lifeline to Bombardier: ‘We have the money available’

Soumis

The Quebec government is pledging to bail out Bombardier Inc. if the aerospace company gets into a deeper crunch — an offer that fits with the company’s long history in the province, say market watchers, and the jobs at stake if it fails. (canadianaviationnews.wordpress.com) Plus d'info...

Nice to know that it is there but my personal opinion is to ditch the CS100 program and concentrate resources on the CRJ and biz jet lines, where their money comes from and where they are one of the leaders. The CS100 may be the best thing since bubble gum but if it is diverting resources and cash away from moneymaking programs and endangering the company, it needs to go away. With the Brazilians, Japanese, and probably Chinese getting into the marketplace, it will be too costly and crowded. They thought they could just waltz in and build one and get it up into the air split lickety but it didn't work that way. A bitter pill to swallow but it needs to go away.

Too many high ranking execs have staked the company's future on the CS100. Within Bombardier's executive ranks this program is not allowed to fail......even if it has.

Yeah, like I said above, you do what you are good at. They also ought to drop the
CRJ 1000. It has been out about 10 years but most new orders are for the 900. Scope clauses have killed it.

I think they should have canned the CS100 ahead of or instead of the Learjet 85 intro. At least Learjet had a following.

Agree with you there

This was announced last Wednesday, so it's not exactly news.
