Agree with you absolutely, Gary. Eventually, one has to make a decision in favour of Family & Self v Solidarity with unions ( important a role as unions play ). I believe that the ATCs had one other choice : Just Turn Up to Work !

There are two competing interests here (a) FAA - Safety (b) Amazon - Money. I am sorry Amazon but IF the FAA reasonably believes that airline passenger safety might be compromised, you may indeed have to take your development efforts and even business elsewhere - possibly to a country without adequate safety safeguards. For, IF the FAA gives in and the unthinkable happens, the FAA will likely be held criminally negligent. BTW: I hope, dear Amazon, that you heard of a drone which recently created a very dangerous situation at Heathrow Airport in London. Finally, let us not forget: No individual or company is indispensable. One goes and another will appear to fill the vacuum. your very surprised customer jc

I use FA mainly to get info on flight arrivals. Useful when one has to head to the airport to receive a family member or friend. Occasionally, have had to cross check Flight Status with the Airline's site. Thank you FA

I can just imagine the emotional trauma all on board went through BUT I am happy that every one was safe. We have to be grateful for that. It brings up the question of maintenance. I hope Airbus and USAir (and NTSB) will review the maintenance routines of these planes, and the pilots satisfy themselves that every plane is verified as being airworthy before every flight. It might delay flights and it might add to the cost of flying but go ahead and charge every pax and extra $10 per journey but do that.

I happen to travel fairly frequently to JFK, LaGuardia, Philly and DC-Reagan National. I have only good things to say about Reagan, the JetBlue terminal at JFK and Philly. La Guardia is not third-world as Biden called it. It is best described as Fourth World. Honestly, how can a city like NY have an airport like LG or JFK (minus the JetBlue terminal)?

I fly both airlines. I found the service on both to be quite good. The service in First class on domestic flights is infinitely better on American than on USAir. If the new combine provides the lower grade service in FC, it will be a pity.may have to stick to JetBlue.

I believe it makes infinite sense to move these mobile things on roller skates out of harms way. As far as I know, all airlines in the hurricane corridor routinely do that. I thought I'd ask a question: IF an airfield is prone to flooding as a result of storm surges, is there any merit to building protective barriers around at least 3/4 of it? Same for subway stations. BTW: many developing countries have cleaner and more presentable airports than LG

I see NO problems with this site. In any event, I have blocked pop ups.
