BOEING 767-300 (N158FE) - The fog was so incredibly thick I could barely see this Fed Ex Heavy as it turned off the only open runway as it arrived from Memphis ... and I wasn't standing very far away. Except for the nose gear headlights and the red beacons, the only other visible marking was the "Fed" on the tail, and despite the fact that the tail was brightly lit up, the letters are almost undetectable. I have never seen it this foggy at RNO.

I was quite sure I could not get anything at all if I used a slaved flash, but I tried anyway. And I was correct; all I got was a huge flash reflection off the thick fog, similar to what a driver gets when the high beam headlights are used in fog. But it didn't hurt to try.

Yep. I've never EVER seen it THIS fogbound here. I was actually VERY surprised that this Fed Ex Heavy actually landed. Only thing I can figure is that it was a low-level fog similar to what we get with clouds from time to time.
