The Government of Canada has officially ordered the Antonov An-124 cargo plane seizure at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). The move comes as part of Canada's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. That airplane has Ukraine for $1 written all over it (IF they want it)
The aircraft is a pawn in a much larger political pi**ing match. At that level alone, Ukraine will take it once airworthy.
The worst part of this was having to click a msn.com link.
I miss the 124s flying over my house when they take off from IAD they have a great sound.
I see them flying in and out of IAH. Great sound. But I’ll miss the AN225 that would occasionally fly in. That made a sound like no other.
used to work in a shop at the end of the main runway at YWG and the AN225 would stop every 6 weeks to take a load of combine headers overseas and it is an incredible sight to see and hear
