if a person is too obese to fit in one seat, then lift up the arm rest, plop down between two seats, of course after having paid for the second seat. THe size reductions in seat widths and creeping seat pitches has been the airline version of the death of a thousand cuts, one tiny increment at a time, one after another. The worst case is the midget bathrooms on american airlines 737's: even "standard-size" humans cannot easily fit there or transact biological business inside that space.

People are getting fatter, so at some point, the airlines will make seats too small to sell to the majority of their potential passengers and then they'll wonder why their planes are less than half full all the time.

Then somebody will come along who puts larger seats in the aircraft and everybody will hail him as the greatest aviation genius of all time.

Maybe nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public, but the airlines are severely underestimating the size of their asses.

Agreed, LOL! I can't wait to see a flight attendant face when a fat man tries to sit in a seat WAY to small for him. That would be SO funny!

It's mostly the idiots grabbing their luggage. computers, purses, backpacks, etc during the evacuations.
