Video of pilotless F16 flight

Lockheed Martin F-16 being modified by Boeing that will be targets for LM F-35's and 22s...there is some corporate irony in there somewhere.

The video implies that these are destined to be shot down. Is that true? If so, they've got the be the world's most expensive disposable targets.

I don't know, to me airplanes are just like boats (I'm a former commerciol fisherman), they all have a personality of their own and are like living things. I hate to hear any of them scream as they die for whatever reason.

Yea sadly it's true. Right now the drone of choice is the F-4 Phantom out in Holloman AFB NM...eventually they will be transitioning to the F-16,

I hate te see those jet planes ending up in the grave yards, on the other hand I would like to see the in the bottom of the ocean as scrap, but the idea is great. Is ther any other way to make them disappear without causing any harm to the environment.

I know this is done for realistic combat training. That is good. What I hate is seeing a perfectly good plane ending up this way. The other thing I hate, is the trend I see coming, that one day, all combat will be done remotely. Some is already being done of course via drones. It will make war "sanitary" regarding life, and war more a "business". I am not a "dove" politically, but I disagree with turning combat into basically a "video game". The chance for "chivalry" and real heroism will be lost along with a segment of humanity.
