Why won't a new carrier use large Turbo prop planes such ATR or the Q400. Seems these jets are costly for a new kids on the block.

Unfortunately using turboprops will not draw in your average, garden variety payin pax. A lot of airlines here in the US switched to mostly RJ'S for feeder service. They probably got a pretty good deal on the used ERJ's. It's also probably easier to fill a 50 seat aircraft as opposed to 70 seats this early in their venture.

So Americans hate propellers after the Indiana and New York crashes. How sad. Only horizon and Fed EX will have prop fleets.

That's the unfortunate truth. Even the smaller ERJ's and CRJ's are looked down on by most pax. Most pax aren't very enthused about flying anyway.
