Don't fret they always have something on the drawing boards but it sometimes isn't worth time or money to go further due to economic market place. And right now the demand for AC is slowing across the board both Airbus and Boeing are adjusting there commitments for the future.
The author might look at his dates....the 757 was produced from 1981 to 2004 when the last one was built.
Those are the dates stated in the article. Did I miss something, where did you see different dates?
