DUBAI: Tariffs Won't Apply to US-Assembled Bombarider CSeries Jets – Cromer

Soumis

Bombardier intends to start building a $300 million aircraft factory in Alabama immediately after the CSeries joint venture's sale to Airbus closes – and CS100s delivered to US customers from that facility will not be subject to a possible import tariff, predicts the president of the Canadian airframer's commercial aircraft unit, Fred Cromer. Much ado about nothing. My Ram truck has an engiine made in Mexico and a transmission made in Germany. My wife's BMW was made in America.
If I remember correctly, wings for the B-787 are made in China.

It was a big ado before thou Ron....you wife's BMW, btw, is assembled in America with German, Chinese, American, Canadian, Brazilian and Mexican content..likewise most products assembled in the US do not contain 100% "Made In America" parts..I do remember, wayy back, working in a plant that actually assembled complete wiring harnesses from wires and connectors that were made in the US and Canada..now adays, mostly outsourced to China.

WTH are you rambling on about?..it will be assembled in Alabama for the US market...and before you start throwing a tantrum about "Made in America", you best get on Boeing, GM, Ford, Chrysler and a whole pile of others and tell them all their parts etc are to be made in the US before saying it's "Made In America"...very little is Made In America anymore..it's "Assembled In America" and about time folks realized that!

Many of the parts (over 50%) are already made in the USA and now the assembly would be IN Alabama, so those panes would be majority US content.

Right you are, Roch..not only that, but if you background look at the C-Series and suppliers, it actually contains more North American companies made content than even the Boeing Dreamliner.
