Emirates plans world's longest flight
Emirates says a new route from Dubai to Panama City set to begin in 2016 will set a new world record for the longest flight at more than 17.5 hours. Emirates Airlines is planning on setting a new world record in February 2016 with flights between Dubai and Panama City. The company said the connection will result in the longest non-stop flight in the world, needing 17 hours and 35 minutes to cover the 13,821 kilometres. I can remeber the days of PAN AM when they broke the world record using the 747-121 and then another attempt successfully using the 747sp jet go for it Emirates.

And how much quicker the flights would be if SSTS had evolved...
I'm amazed there are that many people wanting/needing to travel between those points to make it a viable revenue route.
I cannot see a B777 doing this unless it's not fully loaded with pax or cargo below the belly of the aircraft.
Delta does ATL to JNB with a 777. I have not checked the distances or whether they are fully loaded with pax and freight.
