Ban all drinks from the cockpit unless it is dispensed using a "Tommmee Tippee Cup".
A friend of mine is a 787 pilot for United. He says when FA’s bring him coffee, the coffee is delivered in a “sippy cup”. That cup is SOP. So it seems that the incident pilot brought his own coffee cup which resulted in a spill
Spiling rum would have been more interesting.
