Spirit Airlines Cuts Service to These 11 Cities Amid Bankruptcy
In late August, Spirit Airlines announced it was filing for bankruptcy for the second time in a year, citing financial trouble. The company previously reported plans to scale back operations, and it has just begun. Spirit Airlines will cut service to 11 cities starting in October. A spokesperson for the Florida-based airline will end services to these cities starting October 2, 2025. So Spirit is cutting routes and ending all services to some cities, trying to return to profitability by getting smaller. History shows this doesn’t work: Eastern, Pan Am, TWA all tried this but did not survive.
