Top 10 North American Scheduled Airlines by Fleet Size
Top 10 North American scheduled airlines by fleet size. Source: Aviation Week Commercial Aviation Fleet & MRO Forecast (aviationweek.com) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Article is a little outdated. Since the merger of American and US Airways, the new American Airlines Group would have a fleet size of over 1,000 units per the numbers given in the article. Guess I won't trust the numbers since someone didn't do their research enough to even know there is no longer a US Airways.
Until the FAA approves them operating under a single certificate, they are still officially two airlines owned by the same parent company, just as America West and US Airways were officially two airlines until 2008 when FAA approved them operating under America West's certificate.
Purely a technicality and it is scheduled to happen in the first third of 2015.
Is it also a technicality that Envoy is wholly owned by American Airlines Group, Endeavor is wholly owned by Delta Air Lines, and ExpressJet is wholly owned by SkyWest, yet those airline fleets are not included in the totals of their parents?
