If Air India does not fix their lack a qualified staff and perform needed maintenance, they may have a larger emergency to deal with.

This is not a 787 problem. ANA and JAL do not have of these issues. They operate more 787s than anyone else and fly them harder than anyone else. Their dispatch rate is almost as good as the 777 now.

Air India really needs to train their staff, purchase required tools and spares, and stop trying to shake down Boeing for money. If this was an aircraft issue all carries would have the same problem rate.

James I don"t know why you put these sqwauks up when they have already being posted and gone or its old news buddy. I looked back from sqwauks posted and a person has done this. Sorry to let you know but look before posting it

Except it isn't old news or a repost -- it's a new incident.

Didn't an Air India 787 just lose an engine a few days ago during a flight to Hong Kong? And another Air India 787 was forced to return to the gate last week when an engine warning came on while taxiing.

Don't know about the gate return, but seems like the HK happened. I remember they lost one somewhere, not sure what though.

I have no idea what you are arguing about.

There were two recent incidents where Air India 787s lost an engine in flight. The most recent incident near Budapest hadn't been squawked about yet, the one by James is the only one I can find. I then mentioned in passing that another 787 had to return to its gate when an engine problem developed while taxiing. I don't know why that got you all steamy.

I was referring to the posting of Andrew the first Air India 787 that lost a engine ok

Don't really know who Andrew is and don't care. The engine outs were close together, but all separate incidents and I feel the problem is on AI. As one poster says above, other airlines aren't having these problems and dispatch reliability is close to that of the 777.

A little try at humor here due to all that has gone on with them blaming Boeing and all, could be they are just trying not to put too many hours on there engines, or are trying to save fuel. Oh well tried is all I can say I guess.
