The FAA is investigating a new incident involving a Boeing 737 Max 8 jet in midair

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the incident during a Southwest Airlines flight last month. (www.npr.org) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Could be a fault in an IRS or a Yaw Dampener issue... This is not much of a News Item, but it is interesting. This should not be a big issue as every pilots to get their Pilots license must learn the Dutch Roll maneuver... Turn off the A/P and continue... If in RVSM Air Space, decend to the appropriate altitude and continue.
How true it is but being a Boeing AC the news needs fodder for there stories. A 707 was lost north of Seattle during a training flight years back. They were practicing Dutch rolls and the company pilot went too far for recovery. Ripped several engines off and crashed.
Absolutely! At one point in time the news media was quite respected and the people employed therein were real journalists.
COMMON MISTAKE...its yaw DAMPER.
Apparently the aircraft suffered structural damage in this incident.
