Great image Colton - where and when did you take this picture, what camera and lens did you use & finally which carrier is this?

It is the USS Midway. Launched 1945. Retired 1994. Great ship!

Yes... the USS Midway... CV-41.

The Midway was decommissioned on 11 April 1992.

The NK tailcode as seen on those F/A-18 Hornets is for CVW-14, Carrier Air Wing Fourteen. CVW-14 embarked on the USS Midway in 1991 for the Midway's last operational deployment and cruise prior to being decommissioned in 1992.

This photo would likely date from that period of 1991 and certainly not any later than very early 1992.

When one "borrows" a photo to upload, it's rather correct to give proper credit to the original photographer... or at least provide disclosure of the photo source!

Posting "found" photos from the internet... anyone can do that.

It takes serious creative effort and a dedicated investment of time to post one's own original aircraft photos.

Hi Colton,
A great take from above the giant carrier.
Details and people appearing immaculately clear.
