Airbus A340-600 (G-VRED)
Comments
Very Good Brian!
If they stretch this A340-600 any further, they'll have to put caster-wheels on the tail section.
It appears likely that tail strikes in this type aircraft were a major engineering concern when they pulled on the tail and nose for too-long a time, making it the second longest aircraft, the champ being the 747-800.
Still, the A-340-600 can achieve non-stop legs of 7,550 NM.
Accolades, etc. to the fan jet engineers that are tirelessly squeezing more range out of JP-4.
Someday, maybe, only the hot section on aircraft will be of metal construction.
