Hi Gavin, I loved the 727-100 & 200s and would be amazed as a very young guy watching them climb out at such high pitch attitudes.
Also, loved the wing and motors being so far back for excellent passenger visibility and lower cabin noise.
However, 727 pilots I've known have been somewhat critical of the cockpit organization and flight stability characteristics.

David - ah the 80s! Very few OH&S rules back then and pilots kept a watch for their ground crew. Remember the days when ground crew used batons to guide pilots to their positions.
