Airbus A319 (N742PS)

I've tried finding a way of deleting this photo but there doesn't seem to be any method of doing it. I've got it up on my c-screen and it looks A-OK there ... but not here. So don't go by my pic; N742PS really looks great since the repaint work.

When I viewed it here, the bottom colors seemed "muddled" but they aren't when I look at my original. guess I'm just being too critical. But moving on, this heritage scheme is truly fantastic now after the repaint. And the "Grinningbird" is a super reminder of PSA ... and of the days of many regionals from decades ago. I've got old scans of pictures (Bullseye camera w/620 film) I took as a kid in the 60s. Mohawk, Allegheny, Eastern, TWA, Braniff, Northeast, even a Lake Central. This PSA always reminds me of all the others.

I was a Frequent Flyer of PSA in the early 70's. The FA wore hot pants and boots, drove this 15/16/17 year old crazy!

6766, one of my fave old movies is "Bullitt." The movie itself isn't why it is one of my faves; there is a scene near the end with S. McQueen chasing a bad guy right past a PSA 727 that is beginning its takeoff roll. Super view of the aircraft; I even froze the movie and snapped a shot of the PSA 727 on the TV screen. (Couple great Pan Am scenes too.) FHolbert, I recall those days ... when the FAs were "stewardesses." Memories ...

Sam, this one has been at KBUF three times in the past eight weeks: June 22, Jul 3, and July 10. I snapped it at KBUF about four months ago. All three of the heritage schemes visit KBUF often. The Allegheny special scheme was there at BUF on July 14 and again the next day. The last time the Piedmont paint was at KBUF was in May, so it will probably drop in there soon.
Regarding that SWA flight I mentioned ... A few months ago, the aircraft on Southwest's Buffalo-Las Vegas flight was the same aircraft that made the Las Vegas-Reno run; all it did was get a new flight number after arriving in Las V. So there was no "changing planes" since it was the same bird. I'm not 100% sure it still works like that now.

Great shot, But i have always felt the heritage aircraft should be done in original colors .. WITHOUT the current owners "name tag" .. that would be TRUE heritage ... PACIFIC SOUTHWEST AIRLINES (PSA) .. Once dominated SJC .. My last flight on it was PS # 362 May, 14, 1982, SJC - LAX when I met and received autograph of; Actor Ray Bolger (Scarecrow - Wizard of Oz)

Although I really and truly enjoy seeing the heritage liveries, I do feel they are "incomplete" without the original titles ... and also, in some instances, the original colors. I understand that American would want to show its brand somewhere, but those original titles, at least, should be prominently displayed. The new Reno Air scheme doesn't even have ANY title on it from the old Reno Air days: there are plenty of younger folks out there who will have no clue what airline is being presented in "Heritage" form when they see it at an airport. But since I'm not the one shelling out the $ to have them specially painted, I'll be happy with what there is ... better this than nothing at all.
