Boeing 757-200 (N942FD)
"Kylie" (N942FD) climbs up toward a before-sunup advection fog cloud that is thick enough to keep the golden hour dawn light from penetrating down to the Truckee Meadows.

Breathtaking shot Gary!
Thanx, Darryl. I'll admit; I was steamed (pun intended - lol) when I saw all that fog forming about halfway up the Sierra Nevada. The dawn light was getting brighter and I expected to get some beautiful light on the snow, on Kylie, and on a UPS that was leaving behind her. But the fog formed quickly and the dawn colors went to a bluish-purple. I took the shots anyway but I figured I'd end up trashing all of them. But when I got to view them, old Kylie here stood out quite nicely against that background. Just goes to prove something I always tell my aviation photo students: Even if a photo looks like garbage on the camera screen, NEVER delete ANY picture until you can get it home and view it on a bigger screen. Even a photo that is obviously blurry on the camera screen will teach you how to take better photos if you keep it long enough to examine it on a larger screen so you can determine what you did wrong. In this instance, I'm glad I took my own advice because this series of pics came out fine. Thanks again, Darryl.
Steamed...........????? 5 Q marks for that one! LOL_____!!
5 star super shot Gary. Never dismiss the light. Lenses see more than we do and cloud, fog whatever, this shot looks great.
Great 5 star shot! Working at home today, and I don’t have your email address here. Would you give your email address to me? I have some old shots I’d like to send you! Thank you, Gary! Cheers!!

Great shot Gary! I appreciate the thoughtful shot commentary.
Alien, Gavin, Hundo, and Darryl F. --- Howdy and TYVM for your comments and complis, guys. (Wave)
Hey, Hundo. I'm not sure which one I've been using when I send to you.
The one I post publicly is [email protected] I have a second e/m addy that I use purely for aviation related (photos and chats) communications but that addy is not disseminated here (or on any other site). I always request anyone on FA who wants to have that addy contact me directly via the OldeCarl address and request it because I only want to use it with people who are serious about aviation & aviation photography. I thought I had already sent it to you but perhaps I haven't. So I'll send to you from that other address. Then you can send your pics and etc. to me via that address.

Dwight & Ken ... Hey, guys. TY for your kudos. I'm heading out right now to do a pic request - an 8 plane Fly-Over honoring medical personnel. I'll be catching up on your newest posts tomorrow. Be Safe, guys.
Stunning picture of everyone's favorite airplane!!
Love this one Gary. Has it all. 5* as usual .
Great shot. Only wish I could see if my youngest son was in the cockpit. My other son is doing the KPHX-KRNO route for DHL in tail N67TC for December 2021. Keep up your great work.
