Got my private in a 140 in 1971. Wonderful airplane. Stay on those rudder pedals!

Think it's a 120. No flaps.

Looks like a C-120 to me too

FAA says N2150N Is reg to a 1947? CESSNA 140 . . . but a 140 is supposed to have flaps!

So the type designator is either C120 or C140, not CE14...
Richard Greenwood
The 140 had pitifully small flaps, as I recall, they were about 8 inches by36 inches (+/-), but I can’t find them in this photo. Flying 2331V out of Santa Monica AP, I soloed and got license in 1971.

C140 had the little D window in back, C120 didn’t. But C140 did have flaps (albeit totally ineffective, no use whatsoever). Maybe someone put C120 wings on a 140. Fabric covered (metal wings were commonly installed aftermarket, not a good idea, airplane heavier and didn’t fly as well). But both were wonderful little airplanes, still are.

A Cessna 120 COULD come from the factory with (optional) 'D' windows, or the windows could be added later by STC. But ALL 140's came with flaps.

Don't understand the FAA registry on this one? Maybe the FAA doesn't make the distinction any more?

I've got a few minutes in this airplane only. Last I had heard about this plane the owner ground looped it. It used to be baby blue. Heard he had sold it. Someone must have put fabric, C-120 wings on it. I have this registration number in my log book. June 84. It was a Cessna 140.

ALSO GOT MY PRIVATE IN A 140. A GOOD PRECURSER TO THE Army 01 I flew early in my aviation career.
